Criteria for Project Assistance or Endorsement

  • The project's essential purpose shall be educational and shall always be consistent with Global I.E.'s Purpose Statement.
  • The project shall be cross-cultural and include the study of a language different from the primary language of the country in which the project is located. It shall also involve instructors whose primary language is other than that of the country in which the project is located. Teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) shall be a major activity.
  • The project provides for cross-cultural exchange of ideas between citizens of North America and those of another country or countries.
  • The project may provide for some humanitarian purpose to be accomplished incidental to the project's educational purpose. Scholarships, partially forgiven tuition or reduced expenses for those attending who cannot afford to make full payment will be considered. The project may include the basic care of orphans and other underprivileged children, in order to develop healthy bodies and minds.
  • The project may include a study of different religions or different cultural values or customs.
  • The project may involve instruction or training for those who plan to study in another country.
  • The project may involve the development or distribution of written educational materials, including computer and music materials. It may involve instruction in the creative arts, including music and dance.
  • The project may be a joint venture with another organization whose purpose is compatible with Global I.E.'s Purpose Statement.
