CURRENT COUNTRY PROJECTS
MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR WORLD
AFGHANISTAN: Projects to support kindergarten and primary schools; an after-school math,
reading and writing program; sewing classes for young women; computer classes for young men; humanitarian aid to orphanages that provides clothing, food and school supplies; aid (in the form of clothing, school supplies, and hygiene needs) to children who live with their mothers in prison.
INDIA: Projects to establish computer labs and English learning centers in several locations where none exist; funding for child and elderly nutrition projects.
KAZAKHSTAN: Support to subsidize students and participants at leadership seminars, trainings, and conferences.
KYRGYSTAN: Sponsorship of education and learning opportunities for children's prisons; educational, professional and personal development training and seminars for teachers; projects to improve school facilities such as remodeling sports halls, bathrooms, purchase of new books and school supplies.
MURITANIA: School refurbishing projects at several schools in need of repairs; sponsorship of a soccer coaching project; provision of school supplies and backpacks to several schools.
MYANMAR: Six school-related projects to upgrade facilities, purchase furniture and school supplies for five Irrawaddy River Delta schools; Orphan support to provide for some furniture, utilities, clothing, school supplies, and feeding program for those attending school, including street children.
TAJIKISTAN: Furniture for a new 10-classroom school in the hills outside Dushanbe, Tajikistan; School renovations, including dorm rooms with new paint, replacement of windows, flooring, and heating system; upgrading a preschool and kindergarten facility.
YEMEN: Sponsorship of university seminars in topics of life skills, time management, conversational and specialized English, basic computer skills.
